Echuca is located in the Food Bowl of Victoria - the Goulburn Valley. This region is aptly named as about 25% of the total value of Victoria’s agricultural production is generated in the area, encompassing the towns of Shepparton, Tatura, Kyabram and Echuca.
The region is so well-suited to tomato production due to its ready supply of sunny days, rainfall and water availability – perfect growing conditions. It is also a renowned agricultural region and has excellent transport resources. Echuca has a population of approximately 14,190 (Census SA2 2011, ABS) and is in the Campaspe Shire.
We love growing and processing tomatoes and we love Echuca!
Echuca is one of the most progressive and fastest developing regions in Victoria, Campaspe Shire is dynamic and diverse, rich in history and culture and has considerable strength in agriculture, manufacturing, food processing & tourism.
Equally attractive to industry is the region’s extensive transport network. Major highways (including the Goulburn Valley, Murray Valley, Calder and Loddon Valley highways) criss-cross the region and connect to interstate routes, including one of Australia’s most important thoroughfares, the Hume. This road network and the recently upgraded freight and passenger rail system provide businesses and industries in the Goulburn Valley with direct access to all major ports and markets in southeast Australia. Echuca Airport is also located outside the town.
