Like all countries in the southern hemisphere, Australia’s seasons follow the sequence:

  • Summer: December to February
  • Autumn: March to May
  • Winter: June to August
  • Spring: September to November

In terms of our tomato cycle, we plan a typical year in the following way:

  • July-August: Seedling Production
  • September-October: Planting
  • November-January: Growth
  • February-April: Harvest
  • May-July: Maintenance & Preparation

Planting occurs in the spring months, and the hot summer months see our harvest with full factory operation. As we are located in Temperate Australia (see map), we have quite changeable weather throughout the year. The summer frequently extends into periods of heat wave and drought, with any conditions outside of “normal” weather (such as rain and flood) having sometimes severe impacts on our production schedule.
